What does hosted mean?

“Hosted” means we operate eTracktion on our servers, handling the server infrastructure and providing a complete turnkey solution. We take care of server maintenance, software updates, and backup data to multiple secure locations. You don’t have to maintain servers of your own for the software, saving you time, money and IT headaches. All you need is a computer with an internet connection.

What does cloud-based mean?

“Cloud-based” means our servers are hosted on our own dedicated hardware with world-class datacenters, away from your physical site. We control all aspects of our server hardware, ensuring consistent and reliable performance. Most of the computing happens on our servers, which means you don’t need a fast computer to use eTracktion.

How secure is my data?

Very secure. eTracktion uses Softlayer’s datacenters exclusively to host our servers. Softlayer incorporates on-site proximity security badge access and digital security video surveillance, preventing unauthorized access to our servers. Softlayer also provides enhanced network security to prevent denial of service attacks. Your software and data are protected behind multiple firewalls using industry best practices for network security. All of your data is automatically backed up to different geographic zones to protect your data in the event of a disaster.

How often is my data backed up?

eTracktion automatically backs up your data to a local data store throughout the day. Your data is then backed up to the offsite datacenter once daily.
